More uni news from the NBA, we've seen new/updated logos for teams, now come the uniform reveals.

Minnesota Timberwolves

First up, the T-Wolves. We can finally say the KG era is long gone. The trademark treeline, around the neck is gone, along with the distinct number font, made famous by #21. Also gone, the green, being replaced by gray and black.
You can see the differences, and more views on the official Minnesota site, right here.

Kinda old news here, but 4 NBA teams have altered some visual aspects of their teams. The Jazz, Cavs, and Magic have slightly changed a few things, while the Golden State Warriors have turned it inside out. Let's start out with the minor changes.

Utah Jazz: As you can see above, the Utah Jazz still have the same nonsensical logo (Utah Jazz?), but instead of changing the whole name, they decided to simply "throwback" the color scheme. The former light and navy blue, is now blue, green, and yellow. Not bad, but I still preferred the former. The real bright spot is the secondary logo, the musical note. It's nothing new, but it's good to see it back in use.

Orlando Magic: Nothing major at all here. In fact, I find it a little stupid. A few years back, the Magic changed from their Penny Hardaway/ Shaq/ Tracy McGrady jerseys, to the current pinstriped jerseys you see now. The logotype on the front of the jersey changed, but the logo stayed the same. Now they seem to realize that things don't match up, and have straightened things out. The magical basketball meteor thing is still in place, so good move, but a few years late Orlando.

Cleveland Cavaliers: So you may not see anything different with this "improved" logo. But a simple google search will show that "a deeper wine and brighter gold" are featured. Indeed the gold is definitely prominent. And guess what? I actually like it! It simply looks better, it pops more, and just seems to fit better. This is actually a minor change that is well done.

Golden State Warriors: Finally, the overhaul of the group. No more of the creepy generic "Flash" character. Nope, they are going back to the widely popular "The City" colors, with a new set of logos. There is no trolly car, but the bay bridge is featured, and the players number will be inside the logo, like the old uniforms. Stephen Curry won't have to be embarrassed any more, the Warriors are respectable again, even if it's just from a aesthetic perspective.

So the Cavaliers are interested in Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo to fill the Mike Brown sized seat on the bench. Of course NBA teams courting successful college coaches is nothing new. Florida coach Billy Donovan went to the Orlando Magic, only to return to Gainesville. Who can forget LA attempting to secure Coach K?
This all brings me to what I heard on ESPN this morning, the NBA is the top level of competition, and therefore they should go pro.
No one can say that the NBA is not the top most level of competition in the sport of basketball. There are no Toledo's or Coppin States in the League. However, I do not look at the NBA as more of a challenge to a coach. Winning might in fact, be harder in the college ranks. Think about it, there are a whole lot more teams to face, and to win a championship you must string together victories, none of this best of "best of". And since the pros have better talent, who do you think wins with less? John Wooden had his Abdul-Jabbar, but his teams couldn't match with Phil Jackson's Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman. All of this is even without mentioning recruiting! You can't simply buy the best players (legally), a good college coach is also an excellent recruiter.
So is the NBA the next step on the ladder? Possibly. But it really, it's a different sport when you are in East Lansing.

Best line of the night from Van Gundy, "Blood cleanses the soul" after Varejao gets knocked.

Last minute + postgame just seemed plain weird. It did not seem like a team just lost a series to a lower seed.

LeBron couldn't wait to take that uniform off. Started with the headband before the tunnel. I thought the shorts were coming off too.

Anyone remember the Magic? Anyone?

Either the Celtics are going to keep the momentum, or they will flat out die.

Oh yeah, nice excuse LeBron about the elbow, saying you wouldn't blame it on injuries.

It's sad really. It's a tragedy the likes of Shakespeare. I'm not from Cleveland, nor do I root for the Cavs. In fact, I was hoping the Celtics would do the unimaginable and defeat the regular season best Cleveland team with championship expectations. But I wouldn't wish a season ending like this on anyone.
Like seasons before, they fell short. It wasn't supposed to be a train wreck of a 2 game stretch that began a constant cycle of "Will he stay or go" talks on ESPN. Those two games included a 31 point loss to a team who's core might rot soon by the looks of their age, and a 9 turnover game from a King. The game ended before the horn, by the Cavaliers refusing to foul a horrible ft-shooter in Rajon Rondo.
After the whistle it just got sadder for Cleveland, while I watched stunned. LeBron actually took off his jersey while still in the tunnel. For a player who's every act is studied and analyzed, surely he knew people would notice. It was hard to not see it. With that does Cleveland say goodbye to their native son? What will the Chosen One choose? It's a tragedy Cleveland. Everyone knows it, including the King.
